Ignite The Nation

This year’s reunion, the Ignite the Nation Homecoming event, is organized and sponsored by the Ateneo High School Class of 1996, who will be celebrating their silver anniversary.

In 2020, we faced a strange year filled with challenges and a lot of uncertainties; businesses struggled, the government stumbled, but most of all the Filipino people suffered.

There was call for unity — of being “greater together” — which became the thrust of the annual homecoming for that year: a “HOPECOMING”.

This was also the year where the new MAGIS Branding was implemented — a move that would now see each succeeding Homecoming adapt the branding for their own celebration.

‘Magis’ refers to the philosophy of doing more for Christ, and therefore doing more for others. It is deeply rooted in our Ignatian education as Ateneans.

It is putting your whole self into what you do, not for competition or pride, but towards service.

An expression of aspiration and inspiration, forming the ideal society — Magis invites us to consider how we can serve the world better. And it is a call to the Ateneo community and beyond.

But hope in itself is ineffectual without action.

Fueled by our own hopes to create a better Philippines, the Ateneo community will ignite to live out Magis through action. And in this union of MAGIS + ACTION, we heed the call of ‘setting the world on fire’ as we aspire for a brighter future, calling to the community to put our collective hopes into action.

Here, IGNITE THE NATION was born

This year’s homecoming celebration is sponsored/organized by Ateneo High School Batch 1996. The event will take place on December 4, 2021.
